Lightning Bolt!Looks fun - quite enjoyed Role Models while we're on the subject of Larping in the movies.
Apparently it's being sat on by the studio due to some kind of dispute with the director, so no idea when it'll be released. I liked Role Models too.
Oh my.. It never ceases to amaze me what passes as live action role play in the States.
Wearing actual armour and just rushing at each other in a big field isn't LARP to me either, although we always talked about how cool it would be to do that, once. Our games were small scale - 4-5 players and a couple of NPCs that worked with a GM.
That certainly sounds more legit that what the Americans do. The ones I went to in the 90s (which I suppose was they heyday of larping around here) usually consosted of 100-150 people, all staying in character for the week or so the event lasted. It was glorious. And very, very nerdy.
I would've loved to have done something like that. I guess I still would!
It was good back then, but now I fear I'm too old to sleep under a tree, dig my own latrine and pick dozens of wood ticks from sensitive parts of my anatomy... It was really one of those things that were more fun to have done than actually do. Like running a marathon.
