40k Without A Plot Is A Dull And Limited Game, So For All Gamers Under About 33, Here's The Rogue Trader Plot Generator

Would you like your games to include such things as: Vast floating puddings, death worlds, governors plagued by pirates, mediaeval vampires, agricultural cooperatives, secret viruses, ancient dinosaurs, alien suicide bombers, doomsday devices, motorway ambushes, Greasy Kim's Bar and Diner, allergic atmospheres, scrap yard robots, jealous brothers, over zealous local police, Mysteriously Acquired Crazy Syndrome, unexploded minefields, migrating creatures, ex-wives, malfunctioning weapons, Dr Gostello's Amazing Intergalactic Psycho-circus, experimental androids, camera crews from local media companies? Then the Rogue Trader Plot Generator is for you! Grab your D100 (or borrow your Dad's if you're a youngling) or pick something that takes your fancy or get your GM to do it for you. Enjoy proper gaming!

And by way of comparison, this is what you get in the current 40k rulebook...

  1. Ha! That old RT plot generator was/is so much fun. Great memories of my Squats somehow making deals with Orks and Space Marines coming in bull headed to police the joint.

    1. It's so much fun, back when 40k was a game with a sense of humour!

  2. Ah that brings back fond memories of Abdul Goldburg.

  3. 11-20 "Relations between the Human and Alien farmers have never been good."

Scroll forward 26 years and they are a hell of a lot worse, trust me.

Be careful with this material Davey, it might come as a paralysing shock to the latest generation that not only did 40k once have a sense of humour but that it also encouraged and rewarded those with a fertile imagination.

I'm off to fund the nefarious activities of some Anadentists because their goals coincide with my own.

    1. I can only hope that some of this might filter through to the latest generation. I like to think that gamers are of above average intelligence, so there's a chance it might strike a chord ;-)

  5. Missed this post!

I'll be throwing a few of the subplots into an upcoming online game of RT/WFB I'm organising - fantastic fun!

I always fancied playing the 91-00 option in the oddball situations chart, involving the torturous plot of the mysterious stranger and various family members disguised as each other.

Let me summarise the "scenarios" from the current rule book - There is some enemy over there. Kill them. Kill them all!

    1. Haha! Exactly. It's 'kill them all' and in other parts of the latest book it's 'in this scenario, you can take objectives with X type of unit'. That's all it's become - who can get a "scoring unit" closest to a plastic objective marker.

Where are the double crossing, cross dressing twins?!
