Taurox: Tranks Or Wheels? And Is It Basically A Space Tractor No Matter What You Do?

So which of these do you prefer? Or is the model beyond redemption?

Zinge Industries wheels

Blood and Skulls Industry wheels

The GW original
I have to say that although I'm quite taken by the wheeled conversions I still like the original. The one thing that is making me seriously consider doing a conversion - and I like the middle picture despite its tractorishness - is that I like the idea of using the tracks with other spare parts to make a couple of Space Marine Rapier guns, like this one:

Seeing as these FW models are £29 there is a significant saving to be made here, even with paying the extra for the wheels. Decisions, decisions...

  1. Imagine the traffic tail back it will cause! Lol.

Convert these with Skis for snow terrain!

  2. I would do a half-track, replacing the front tracks but keeping the rear tracks.

    1. Yes I should've included a picture of one like that. Not my personal favourite though.

  3. It's just hard to believe that 38,000 years of development will result in the Saracen APC.

    1. That's pretty true. You think the developers might come up with something more original than base it on current technology.

  4. The BSI wheels and blade actually look pretty good

  5. BSI wheels are REALLY good this way though I would rather try the half-track.

  6. Love the first conversion! It really looks like an MRAP. A close example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:FBI_Mine_Resistant_Ambush_vehicle.jpg

I also like the missiles option better than the turret one shown in your post.

The biggest issue I have with this model is the fact that the rear guns would nearly shoot through the front lights of the vehicle! But I think it's easily fixable: just take the autocannons/volley guns and put them in the front plates (the ones painted with white and orange stripes). Then just sculp a little fabric thingy that covers its connection with the metal panel, like in a chimera front gun, if you know what I mean. And you're good to go and fight for the Emperor! Or for the hive mind, in your case.
